Samuel Christian Hahnemann - Page 3© Christine Wyndham-Thomas She said that her health had suffered, owing to grief caused by the loss of several friends. She had read 'The Organon' and wanted to meet the author. Within three months of that meeting in Kothen - in January 1835 - they married. Three months later they moved to Paris, where Melanie became a practitioner of Homeopathy. The couple acquired a large house in the Rue de Milan, and Hahnemann found himself in very luxurious circumstances to what he had been use to. On 2 July 1843 Hahnemann died. The sixth edition of 'The Organon', on which he had been working shortly before his death, remained in the possession of Melanie, who continued to practise Homeopathy. At her death it passed to her adopted daughter, who had married the son of von Boenninghausen, one of Hahnemann's most devoted disciples. In 1922 Haehl succeeded in obtaining the manuscript for publication.
