A weathered night stand table may not be for everyone, but for those who prefer old  country type table, this project is for you.

The table is made from weathered fence boards and fence rails.  To construct the 21" wide x 26" long x 25" high table, the material list consists of three 1"x6" pieces - six feet long boards, two eight feet long 2"x4"s, along with 2" long x #8 wood screws and 2" finishing nails to secure the framework together.  A tablesaw, 7-1/4" power saw, combination square and hammer are also required.  However additional tools may be used if the project builder chooses to do so.  Always wear safety glasses when working with power tools and adopt a safety attitude when working on project.

To begin the project, first cut four table top pieces of 1"x6" - 26" long from two lengths of six feet long boards and then rip them to 5-1/4" wide.  The next 1"x6" board is cut to 25" long and the remainder piece is cut to 18-1/2" long.  Rip the 25" and 18-1/2" long pieces to 2-1/2" wide to make the table frame which is 20" wide x 25" long.

Also, take one 1"x6" offcut and rip two pieces that is also 2-1/2" wide.  This two offcut pieces will serve as diagonal braces (5-3/4" long) nailed at the four inside corners on the underside of table to stiffen legs.

Cut two pieces of 2"x4" - 24-1/4" long and then set table saw fence to 1-1/2" wide and rip the two pieces to make four table legs.  Set table saw to 45 degrees angle and then cut four angle braces that's 5-3/4" long.  Care and caution must be taken to cut these four braces.  Use a sliding guide to cut pieces which have mitre joint cuts at both ends.  Avoid kickbacks.  Keep fingers clear of saw blade while cutting.  Do not attempt this procedure unless qualified to do so.  The braces can also be cut in a mitre box with a back saw.

Place the shorter pieces (18-1/2"x 2-1/2") to the inside and 25" long pieces to outside to make rectangle frame, but take note that the saw cut edges of the frame is positioned to face in one direction and then nailed together with 2" finishing nails.  (Apply wood glue to joints prior to nailing)

Once the frame is built, place a leg in a corner of frame.  (Position saw cut edge of leg inward to give effect to table design and as well, saw cut edge of frame is also positioned so that table top boards butt against it to hide saw cuts)  Clamp pieces together and secure with
