HGTV.com is still one of my favorite sites you good information, ideas and pictures on projects.
If you are lucky enough to have the channel, count your blessings. This group consistently has lot of great programming and I could easily wile away a day just watching what they have to present. Installing a whirlpool tub is probably something that a lot of us have considered. It can be very relaxing and does not tkae up as much space as a hot tub, and usually costs a lot less. HGTV is currently presenting an article on how to install a whirlpool tub and I don't want to take credit for something that I didn't write so here is the URL: http://hgtv.com/HGTV/project/0,1158,BDRE... One strong caution that I have about this project is first off to take your time. Assuming that you are going to be working with an existing bathroom with a tub already in place, make sure you don't get into a rush. It would be best if you had another bathroom in the house to use while this one is out of commission. If you don't have a second bath you may want to consider installing one as a better project to start with. The second caution is to make sure you have the right support in the flooring for this type of tub. If the bath is going to be on the second floor check underneath it to make sure there is enough support. You can have a structural engineer come in if you need, but you're not really going to hurt anything by having more support. These tubs tend to hold more water and therefore weigh a bit more than your average tub. I definitely recommend this project. You can increase the value of your home and the comfort level as well. And I can say from experience that it is really nice. Enjoy. Go To Page: 1
