Forcing SpringIf the rest of you are anything like me, I can't wait for Spring to get here. I'm pretty tired of cold. The only problem is that I still have at least a month of cold weather to go. Now I can't change the temperature, but I can change the color. The Lowe's webpage has a wonderful idea for a way to get Spring to come a little early into your home. On the Lowe's page you can find all of the instructions (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/findex.asp). Basically, you can force certain blooming plants (they have a list on the page) to bloom a little early. Essentially, you prune off a few branches after they have some good buds on them, and soak, and soak, and soak them. You will want to check out their page to get all of the details. They have some pretty specific instructions. While you are there give the rest of the page a good look-see. I really appreciated the ability to customize the page to fit the project you are currently working on. If you are working on some sort of interior project, you can setup the page to guide you to products and tools that may assist you. I also liked the seasonal project list. Sometimes we see so much that needs to be done, and have no idea where and when to start. This list and the expanded version will help you figure it out. Let me know how the Spring fling goes, if you give it a try. Until next time.
