Welcome to Home & Yard Remodeling & Repair

In the movie, "The Money Pit," Tom Hanks and Shelley Long end up with a home that is less than what they expected. Although it is humorous (and scary) to see all the problems they had working on their home, it is also a reminder of what could befall each one of us. Home remodeling can be a daunting task. Each job usually involves an action that we have never performed before. The secret is to never get to a point of feeling that there is no one or no where to turn for advice or direction. That is where we come in.

I hope that this page will become an area for the bold homeowner to turn for ideas and help. I do not want this to be a forum for me to spout my own ideas and projects. I would hope that this would become an area where readers can submit questions and answers from their experience and mistakes.

The reason this forum is a bit more broad than others, is because I know that the yard is often one of the more neglected areas of improvement for a home. We tend to do a bit of landscaping and a lawn and figure we're done. The first area that a visitor or potential buyer is going to notice is the yard and exterior of the home. The yard and exterior of the home is also the area that usually demands most of our attention when it comes to regular maintenance (except for regular housecleaning). There is a way (yes, it is true), to have an attractive exterior and yard with a minimal amount of maintenance. Together we can find the best techniques and materials no matter your experience, location, or fears.
