In this day and age, when we are relying more on the Internet to do our shopping, we may get confused with the different measurements in different countries. I have put together some of the most used measurements and their converted counterparts.

Note:These computations are approximate.

When ordering something for length or distance, these conversions can be of some help.

1. Take inches and multiply by 25 to find millimeters. Take millimeters and multiply by0.04 to get inches.
2. Take feet and multiply by 30 to find centimeters. Take centimeters and multiply by 0.4 to get feet.
3. Take yards and multiply by 0.9 to get meters. Take meters and multiply by 1.1 to get yards.
4. And if need be, take miles and multiply by 1.6 to get kilometers. Take kilometers and multiply by 0.6 to get miles.

If you are ordering something and need the surface measurements, these conversions will be very handy.

1. Take square inches and multiply 6.5 to get square centimeters. Take square centimeters and multiply by 0.16 square inches.
2. Take square feet and multiply by 0.09 to get square meters. Take square meters and multiply by 1.2 to get square feet.
3. Take square yards and multiply by 0.8 to get square meters. Take square meters and multiply by 1.2 to get square yards.
4. Take square miles and multiply by 2.6 to get square kilometers. Take square kilometers and multiply by 0.4 to get square miles.
5. And, Take acres and multiply by 0.4 to get heotares. Take heotares and multiply by 2.5 to get acres.

When buying liquid items these volume and capacity conversions can ease your mind.

1. Take fluid ounces and multiply by 30 to get milliliters. Take milliliters and multiply by 0.034 to get fluid ounces.
2. Take US pints and multiply by 0.47 to get liters. Take liters and multiply by 2.1 to get US pints.
3. Take Imperial pints and multiply by 1.568 to get liters. Take liters and multiply by 1.76 to get Imperial pints.
4. Take US quarts and multiply by 1.95 to get liters. Take liters and multiply by 1.06 to get US quarts.
5. Take US gallons and multiply by 3.8 to get liters. Take liters and multiply by 0.26 to get US gallons.

For computing weight and mass these conversions can make quick of a confusing time.

1. Take ounces and multiply by 28 to get grams. Take grams and multiply by 0.035 to get ounces.
2. Take pounds and multiply by 0.45 to get kilograms. Take kilograms and multiply by 2.2 to get pounds.

I hope these easy to follow conversion equations will help you the next time you get a bit overwhelmed with measurements.
