Its A Wrap; Wrapping up The Holidays

Giving the perfect gift is so exciting; why not present it in an exciting manner. A little ribbon here, some fabric there, an ornament, artificial fruit, all easy and spectacular. With a few of my ideas and your creativity, you can give stunning packages.

Here are some items you will want to have on hand, before you get started;

· Wrapping paper, both colored and prints.
· Ribbon, from satin to paper to row grain to raffia.
· Assorted decorations, little millenary do dads, glass ornaments, candies with strings attached, wooden utensils, dried flowers and fruits etc.
· Cellophane tape, designer tapes, even Band-Aids.
· A hot glue gun, both hot and cool melt, and the glue to go with them.
· A straight edge ruler.
· Scissors, fabric scissors, pinking shears, fancy edge paper scissors a craft knife (like Exacto*)
· A large clean table
· An iron
· Rubber stamps and inkpads.
· Card stock paper
· Labels
· And maybe an elf or two, for holding ribbons, corners, and such.

I don't know about you, but to me, there is nothing more exciting than a wonderfully wrapped present. It evokes such ideas about the contents. When a get is specially wrapped package I almost hate to open it. Almost!

It's really not hard to create such a presentation. All you need is an imagination and some wrapping basics. Come on let's get wrapping.

Simple Elegance

Sometimes the perfect gift simply deserves an elegant presentation. Whether it's a diamond ring or the perfect tie, you want to wrap it with all the love you spent choosing the gift.

"Good things come in small packages". OK, if that's true here are some wrapping ideas to wow them.

1. For that diamond ring, try wrapping it up in satin and lace. Use a small piece of real satin to wrap the box. Add a simple lace ribbon bow. For an even more intriguing place that package in the pocket of a pure silk robe, wrapped in foiled paper.
2. For other jewelry items, you can always go for the graduating boxes trick. First wrap the original box in a pretty foil paper. Then place that box in a slightly larger box, wrapped in another color foil wrapping paper. Place that box, and a heavy stone, in an even larger box. Wrap that box in bright Christmassy paper, and add a BIG bow.
3. For Gift certificates, instead if giving them in an envelope, put them in a tie box and wrap them in the pages of the store's catalogue or circular.
