Random Acts of kindness and Other Niceties

Doesn't your day feel a little brighter when someone holds a door open for you? Or even getting a smile from the checkout clerk? Sure it does. Well, wouldn't it also make you feel good to know that some little thing, you have done, makes someone else happy? Yes it would. Not to mention, it just makes the world a little nicer to live in.

It's really easy to do. It doesn't take much effort. It doesn't even have to cost you a penny. So if your in need of a few good ideas, I've got some.

Once a Day

Here are some acts of kindness you can do every day. Once you start, you will find, you'll be doing them without having to think of it. So pick one, or try them all.

* Hold the door open for the person in front of you. * Help a mother get her shopping cart and her kids out of the store. * Say excuse me when you walk in front of someone. * When buying baked goods, get an extra something for the cashier. * Let an extra car through an intersection. Even if it is legally your turn to go. * Leave a thank you note for the cleaning staff, at work. * Over tip a harried waitress. * Smile and say hello to you pass on the street. * Give your mail carrier a hot coffee, to go, on a cold day. * E-mail your boss to tell Him or Her thanks for being a good boss. * Pay the toll for the person behind you at the toll booth.

Once in a while

Here are some good things you can afford to do every once in a while.

* Women, but your Husbands a dozen roses and a box of chocolates. Just because. * Take a full Saturday to clean the house of an elderly neighbor. Tell them it's not charity, they are just King or Queen for a day. * Roll the change in your spare change drawer and give it to a church, other than your own. * Bring a big batch of cookies, and milk, to your local kindergarten. * Fix a neighbor's fence, gate, mail box etc. with out telling them or charging them. * Walk to the store in stead of driving, and save a little fresh air. * Let your kids eat desert before dinner. Oh, it won't hurt once in a blue moon. * Have a garage sale and donate all of the proceeds to your local volunteer Fire House.
