Creative Storage Ideas for Craft SuppliesAnyone who does crafts knows, supplies can pile up everywhere. No Matter how hard we try to keep up with them, there is always something you don't know where to put. I have come up with some pretty creative ideas for storing my craft supplies. From empty prescription bottles, to an old lunch basket. There really is a place for everything. It all depends on where you have the room to put it. Here are some of my solutions. I hope you can use them. I'm sure you can use at least one. Beads, Buttons, and Bobbles: 1. Empty prescription bottles, labels off, make great containers for beads. They come in various sizes, that will accommodate most of your bead sizes. 2. Empty instant coffee jars make a great, see through, home for buttons. 3. Empty spice bottles are great for small eyes, noses etc. 4. Separated canning jar boxes are perfect for Yarn. You can keep colors separated and tangle free. 5. Empty 33mm film cans are perfect for studs, sequins, and hooks & eyes. Sewing Sundries: 1. For thread and bobbins, an egg carton can hold a dozen. Keep a full bobbin with it's thread mate. It will save time and confusion. 2. A desk mail sorter can be the perfect home for small patterns and tracing paper. 3. Ask your fabric store for empty fabric bolts. You can put you own yard goods on them. Then, stand them, upright, in a closet. 4. Small wicker baskets make attractive cubbies for quilting quarters. Just roll then up, tie with ribbon, and arrange in the basket. 5. Tack a piece of plastic canvas to your workspace wall. Slip in some small drapery hooks, in different areas. Now you have a place to hang scissors, cutting wheels, rulers, even a small notepad. Plastic Canvas, Cardboard and other flat items: 1. A one drawer file cabinet can be indispensable for storing cardboard, plastic canvas, and patterns. 2. How about a wall magazine rack for these things? Kit Supplies: 1. A plastic shoe box, or any shoe box for that matter, will fit a lot of things. Needlepoint kits, rubber stamps, candle supplies, just about anything goes inside. 2. Plastic ice cream, or cookie tubs, are also great for the many things you will need for a project. 3. Yogurt containers are great for jewelry findings, and embroidery floss for your project. Pencils, Crayons, Markers, Paint etc.: 1. Painted aluminum cans make pretty pencil cups. Use one for pencils, one for markers, colored pencils etc.
