OK, Maybe I'm a little biased, being that I live in Schoharie County. But there are so many things to see and do here. No kidding. From Antiques to Fresh Zucchini, We've got it all.

I'm going to let you in on some of the great things to do here, and you won't break the bank.

Where we are: 40 Miles west of Albany New York, and about 40 miles East of Cooperstown, We're real easy to find. There are many highways that will bring you here. Take the New Your Throughway to exit 25A to Rt. I88 west, and you cant miss it.

We're are part of New York's Leatherstocking Region. You can also follow Rt. 20 or Rt. 7 right through our beautiful County.

Where to stay: There are many different way to stay with us. We have, charming Bed and Breakfasts, Great Camp Grounds, RV parks, and many of Motels and Hotels. You can always find a decent place to stay, with in your budget.

Where to Eat: If fast food is your cup of tea, Cobbleskill, provides McDonald's, Burger King , and a new KFC.

In Central Bridge, right on man street( off of Rt.7), Is Hotel Austin Bar and Pizzeria. Their Schoharie style pizza is defiantly worth the stop. It's the only place I get pizza.

In How's Cave, Rt.7, There is Borealis Restaurant. With American and Italian cuisine, and decent prices, makes for a pleasant dinning experience.

In the town of Schoharie, The Parrot House offers fine dinning and drinks at family prices.

In the town Of Middleburg, The Middleburg Dinner will dish you up a huge meal, and you will walk away with money in your pocket.

Their are plenty more places to eat, here. These are just a sampling of my favorites.

What to do:

For the Family :

The number 1 stop, in my book, is Howes Caverns. The temperature is always 56 degrees. That's a real plus on those hot days. The Caverns are festinating, as well as educational. It's just great for the kids, and you too.

Another underground experience can be found at The Secret Caverns. They boast a 100 foot waterfall, on their tour. Just follow the colorful signs. You can't miss them. Trust me.

One of my favorite places is the Iroquois Indian Museum. You'll get a wonderfully entertaining and interesting experience. Along with a nature walk. They also have special events going on through out the tourist season.
