Great Easter Doings

© Eileen O'dea

Easter is one of those holidays that lets us celebrate all sorts of good things. Naturally, the first celebration is the Resurrection of Christ. This is the real reason or Easter. However, their are other things we celebrate on this special day.

We celebrate the start of spring, and new beginnings. The first flowers of the season start peeking through the fresh green grass. The new animals take their first steps into the world. We don our new spring cloths, and look forward to a brand new season of wonders.

All of these celebrations have come together to form the holiday we call Easter. Perhaps no other holiday brings together the true meaning of renewal. For some it is a renewal in faith, and for others it is a fresh new start. What ever you reason, for celebrating Easter, I can give you some fresh ideas and some old favorites as well. From Easter Brunch to the Easter Bunny, I'll let you in on some of my favorite Easter Fair.

Those Easter Baskets

Here are a few of my favorite Easter baskets, to give and to receive.

From the Bunny

Candy is a traditional favorite, but who says the big guy has to stick to candy only? Hey, he has an imagination, and he loves to use it. Here are some sugar free treats he just might add to your child's basket.

1. Stickers! Kids love them, and there are loads of cute spring and Easter ones out there.
2. How about a packet of carrot seeds (or lettuce, spinach, or another good Veggie) . EB knows how healthy they are, and loves to see kids growing them. And the kids will just love growing them.
3. How about a favorite ( new or old) book? EB also knows how important it is for kids to develop good reading skills. He recommends one of the many Easter books, on the market right now.
4. A little stuffed bunny or chick would fit perfectly in an Easter basket.
5. Don't forget a special card, from EB naturally.

These are just a few things the Easter Bunny suggests. He's sure you will come up with some really good alternatives, your self.

The Easter Bonnet

The Easter Bonnet, and the entire outfit for that matter, is very important. Not for how you look to others, but for how it lifts your spirits.

Here are some Easter Duds Hints;
