Weeds in The Winter Written and illustrated by Lauren Brown. The copyright date on this book is 1976, so you might have to check the library for it. It is, how ever, worth the trip. Have you ever seen a dead plant, sticking out of the snow and wondered; What the heck was that? Well I have, and this book has been a God send. It's wonderful illustrations and detailed descriptions are a must, for denitrifying those back yard wonders. There are 241 pages of "weeds", their pictures and descriptions. I found my copy at a flea market. So keep an eye out, on your next trip. Pruning by Christopher Brickell. This book is a step by step guide to pruning roses, deciduous shrubs, evergreens, fruit trees, and deciduous trees. With season to season illustrations and detailed instructions, any one can prune with confidence. From Roses to Blueberry bushes, this book has it all. Ever wanted to try Espalier? This is where to learn the do's and don'ts. Thinking of trying your hand at climbing vines? That's included too. Just about all of your pruning questions will be answered in the pages of this book. Now you will have no excuses not to plant what you want. Find out how easy it really is to prune your way to beautiful healthy growth. The Complete Soapmaker by Norma Coney. With tips, techniques and recipes for making luxurious handmade soaps, this book is the soap maker's bible. Whether you are a beginner, or a seasoned Soapmaker, there is something to learn from this book. The instructions are easy, and the photos of the finished products are beautiful. Norma Coney has been on numerous television programs, showing her techniques. This book is a terrific companion to her appearances. Even if you haven't seen Norma, you can get a pretty good idea of her talents. Country Fabric Scrap Crafts by Marti Michell. This book is a must for any crafter. The projects range from simple and easy to heirloom quality crafts. All made with scraps of fabric.
