We all have them. Whether it's dolls, bears, or even salt and pepper shakers. We all have some kind of collection. Well, why not put them to work, for you. Decorate with your collectibles.
Here are some ways to spruce up your Decor, without breaking the bank. On the Walls Had it with trying to find just the right painting? Well, with a few nails, hooks or a couple of picture hangers, and your treasures, you can create a one of a kind arrangement. Here are a few things worth hanging. 1. Small musical instruments. That's right. Make an interesting wall arrangement with your own instruments. First, lay then all out on a table. Play with the arrangement until you hit on one you like. Remember to allow room for your hangers. Put up one piece at a time, to assure for proper spacing. If an instrument has no way to join with the nail, make it one. You can use any thing that goes with your Decor. Use some cording and a tassel, for a classic look, black or white leather cording for a contemporary look, or some yarn, for a Folk Art look. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. 2: Have a bare Kitchen wall? How about hanging your old kitchen utensils, or a collection of rolling pins? Set every thing out, like with the instruments. This time use cup hooks for hangers. Even for the rolling pins. You can find large hooks in the hardware store. In just one afternoon, you can change the entire look and feel of your Kitchen. On the Mantle Want a different look for your fireplace mantle? Here are some quick and easy ideas to beef it up a bit. 1. Pottery. Whether it is planters, vases, or even cookie jars, you can spiff up that mantle with usable collectibles. You can fill the planters with playing cards, matches, whatever little things you may use in that room. Fill the vases with flowers, real, silk or dried. Change them with the seasons or your mood. The cookie jars can hide all sorts of little things you just don't want lying around. 2. How about bird houses? These too, can be changed with the seasons or holidays.
