Everyone knows teachers love to receive a red shiny apple. Here are a few welcome-back apple gift baskets that will make her/his year.

An Apple For the Teacher Baskets

#1 In a medium-sized wicker or wire basket place:

Four nice, red, shiny cooking apples, a small jar of cinnamon sugar, a small bottle of REAL vanilla extract, a bag of brown sugar and a recipe card. On the card include the recipe for baked apples ( found below ).

#2 In a medium wicker basket place:

A coffee mug with "world's greatest teacher" or something like that on it, a nice, big, red, Delicious apple, a box of instant mulled cider mix, a few cinnamon sticks, and a good paper back book.

#3 In a wicker organizer basket place:

A nice, shiny red, apple, a package of colored star stickers. a box of red pens (found in office supply stores ),a package of pencils, a box of chalk and a box of paper clips.

Along with all of these "apple" baskets, be sure to include a nice card - one that you and your child have signed. Any one of these baskets make a wonderfully different "Welcome Back" gift. And all are pretty inexpensive.

Off to the Dorm Baskets

Going off to college for the first time, can be a nerve-wracking experience. Here are a few Dorm gift basket ideas that will make that transition a little easier.

A new tooth brush, with a tube of tooth paste. And tucked in - to be found when they get to school - an "I miss you" note, and a pre-paid phone card.

#2 In a wicker organizer basket place:

A writing tablet, a box of envelopes, a book of stamps, a small address book, a few trendy pens, and a package of stickers that reflect your student's personality. A few self-addressed stamped envelopes to get them started. Last, a pre-paid phone card.

#3 In a medium-sized basket or "milk" crate place:

A photo album for new photos and a small photo album filled with family pictures. A few good binders, and some big notebooks. A new trendy keychain, a package of their favorite candy and cookies. A $20 gift certificate, from the department store near the school. Some fast-food coupon books, and a pre-paid phone card.
