He's due to appear in another film being released sometime this year, tentatively titled "Summer Catch" (co-starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Biel, and former "Buffy" actor Marc Blucas). One more note on Christian Kane and "Angel" - he originally auditioned for the role of Riley Finn on "Buffy" - a role later taken by Marc Blucas, his co-star in "Summer Catch". But Joss Whedon like him so much he asked him to appear on "Angel" instead. Imagine Christian Kane as Riley! You can't, can you?
Fans of "Angel" may be wondering who on earth Andy is - but once they find out they'll be thrilled to finally know his real name. Known as 'The Host' this season, fans have never seen what Andy really looks like because of the heavy makeup he wears each episode. That's because the Host is an Anagogic Demon. A demon that owns a successful karaoke bar. I know, I know, it's hard to believe - but suspend belief and accept that a karaoke bar can be successful, okay? The online fan base for Andy Hallett has just begun, but I can certainly tell you that he'll have legions of websites soon if he continues making his mark on "Angel". Andy got the part as The Host this season by a mix of luck and talent. He had known Joss Whedon for a few years and invited Whedon and his wife to see him sing at a blues bar in Universal City, California. While Andy was belting out a Patti LaBelle song, Whedon got the idea for a crazy new character for one of his shows. Several months later, Whedon approached Andy and told him to think about auditioning for the role, even though there was no definite plan to make it a recurring role at that time. Sadly, there is not much online information about this Massachusetts native, but I can tell you that he is in his early 20s and never had an real acting job until "Angel" dropped into his lap. But hopefully as word gets out about Hallett's hilarious turn as the diva demon, he'll land more work in which we'll get to see his face instead of having it covered with green makeup and red contact lenses! One last note: Be sure to take part in our poll and the contest which are described in full on the "Welcome" page of this topic!
