I was going to write an article on just one of the actors from this television show, and then I realized that it could be fun to do one article about two of them. Joss Whedon has a knack for picking great talent for his shows on the WB and they both might as well be spotlighted.
But for now I'll highlight a couple actors in particular from this show - ones that I think could easily have continued success on the large screen as well as small. And I heartily recommend the fan sites that I've listed - these people have taken the time to make great websites for their favorite actors and it shows - they have high readership and good information about the actors and the work they do. Also check out a fellow writer here at S101 who has a whole topic dedicated to "Buffy" and "Angel", both shows by Joss Whedon. Nicholas Brendon http://www.nickbrendon.com We're taking special note of Nicholas Brendon, who plays Xander Harris, one of the Scooby Crew who helps Buffy seek out vampires or demons to slay. Suffice to say I love Xander on the show - he's frequently given the funniest lines to say and is just so sweet you want to put him in your pocket and take him home. And that's all thanks to Nicholas Brendon, the 29 year old actor who portrays him. The great thing for us is that Nicholas is even an actor! He originally dreamt of playing pro baseball but had a serious arm injury and turned to acting in commercials instead. When the acting bug didn't quite bite he turned to "normal" jobs - medical student, plumber's assistant, day care counselor, waiter, etc. He was fired from almost all of the jobs he was hired for. At some point he decided to give acting another chance and landed the plum role of Xander on the tv series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", based on the film starring Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry. Five years later he's one of the show's best characters -- but others in Hollywood are taking notice.
