She continued attempting a comeback, even co-starring in one of Warren Beatty's early movies, but tuberculois and depression continued to haunt her. At the age of 53, she was found dead in her bedroom by Jack Merivale.
America loved Vivien Leigh, and she will always live in our memory as a goddess. It's sad to think that if doctors had known how to properly treat manic depression, she would have lived much longer and done so much more.
