Hypnotherapy 101 (Part II)

When you practice self-hypnosis, all the same rules apply, except you say the words in the first person. For example, "I feel calm. I feel relaxed. My mind is open to receive all the helpful and beneficial suggestions I am about to give myself." I truly believe that self-hypnosis is more effective than guided hypnosis in most circumstances. Self-hypnosis takes away the fear of being controlled by someone else or being made to do something against our will. As much as the hypnotherapist stresses the point that we can't be hypnotized to do something against our morals, some people will never accept that, so self-hypnosis is an excellent tool for them. The great thing about hypnosis is that it is so easy to use. It is also extremely effective and can be used for just about any problem we have to conquer. Just a small example of what hypnosis can be used for: Hypnosis is a powerful tool! There's nothing you can't accomplish using the power of your own mind. Hopefully, this article will not only teach you how to use hypnosis effectively, but will also alleviate some of the fears some people have regarding hypnosis. As you can see, there is no mystic mumbo-jumbo, spell casting, or conjuring of evil spirits involved in the practice of hypnosis. Actually, it is so completely natural that most of us are in a light state of hypnosis several times during our daily life. If we've daydreamed, if our mind has wandered, if we've gone to sleep, we've been in hypnosis. Our favorite music or author or artist can easily take us into a state of hypnosis. Singing at church or praying can bring about a hypnotic state. I know we've all been lost in hypnotic trance while sitting on a beach watching the waves roll in as the moon glows above and the stars twinkle brightly. Who hasn't been mesmerized by the beautiful face of a newborn child or the look in the eyes of the person you love?
