Health Tips Series - Part 3

Hypnosis is a wonderful treatment for the body, mind, and spirit. In this article, we're going to look at some quick and easy ways to use hypnosis for our holistic health.

BODY

Physical Hypnosis

Hypnosis can be used for pain management, weight loss, athletic performance, and more. If you can see it, you can achieve it! We've covered pain management and weight loss here at Holistic Alternatives, and this month, I want to give you a hypnosis script for athletics and sports achievement.

Henry Leo Bolduc says in Self-Hypnosis, Creating Your Own Destiny, "To perform well, an athlete must be relaxed enough to allow the natural timing and coordination to flow with the movement of the game. When he or she is in the flow, every movement feels right. The critical and doubting mind can be bypassed to allow the athlete to experience their fullest potential. Above all, a playful sporting attitude helps the participants to realize that it is a sport to be enjoyed."

MIND

Mental Enhancement

Having Fibromyalgia has forced me to use creative ways to clear my mind, destress, enhance my memory, and organize my thoughts. I was having an increasing number of "foggy" days where I couldn't think clearly or focus on one thing for very long, and my memory was terrible! I want to share some of what I've been using to help.

I sit down and relax, close my eyes and take three deep breaths, then repeat this affirmation three times.

"Whenever I study, my mind is like a camera. Everything I see, I remember. Whenever I read, I mentally record what I read. I listen and see and feel as I read.

My mind is like a tape recorder. Everything I hear, I record.

My mind is also like a video camera. Everything I see and hear, I program on tape.

My inner mind records and stores all images and sounds for my later projection. I experience all that happens and record an impression of it.

I recall and retrieve as I desire.

I have an excellent memory. It is easy for me to learn and to remember because I can focus my mind on anything I like, for as long as I like. Sustained concentration strengthens my mind. I have clear, quick thoughts and specific retention of information."

SPIRIT

Meditation for Our Spirits

Meditation isn't as hard as folks make it seem. I've tried and failed myself many times because I expected that "perfect" experience that all the books tell you about. Once I just let go and accepted everything that flowed through my mind during meditation, I had much more enjoyable sessions.
