A Tea Party At Nana's

There are three special little people in my life. They are my grandchildren, Desiree (7), JonPaul (2) and Kristin (2). Since Desiree is getting out of school for the summer soon we are planning their first "Tea Party At Nana's."

Desiree' and I will go out shopping that day for a set of children's china. This could possibly take all morning since her favorite color is purple and the set would have to be purple. We will also pick up Nana a new tea pot with a whistle so we will know when the water is ready. Then she and I will go to the grocery store where we will pick up the ingredients for the snacks. Desiree will help me pick out just the right blend of decaffinated tea. Perhaps a fruit blend like rasberry or orange.

We should arrive home abou the time that JonPaul and Kristin are getting there. Paw Paw will already have their table set up with a teddy bear table cloth and extra chairs for some of their favorite teddybear guest. While Paw Paw and JonPaul and Kristin play outside in the giant doll house. Desiree' will help me in the kitchen. We will both put on our tea party apron's. She will fill the tea kettle with water and give it to me to place on the stove. Then we will make the snacks. Desiree' can stir the cookie batter and lick the spoon clean before she puts it in the sink to be washed. Then when the tea kettle whistles we can make the tea in a big jug and place it in the ice box to cool while we finish all the snacks.

Kristin and JonPaul will then come in and set the table with the new china. Paw Paw will supervise since this is still something they are new at too. Then Desiree will act a hostess and serve them. (JonPaul and Kristin can take turns serving when they get a little older.) While they are all at the table we will sing "I'm a little teapot." Then we will read the tale of Peter Rabbit. That is Kristin's favorite! They will sit and chat for about a half hour at the table. Then with Teddies in tow they will be off to the play room to play.

Soon the day will be over and we will kiss them good-bye and send them home with their parents.
