When I was a toddler my mother used to call me Charlie Brown because I had a round head and I looked like Charlie Brown. As I grew older the nickname Charlie stuck with me. It wasn't until I was grown that I realized that I had the personality of Charlie's dog "Snoopy." Snoopy was a writer and he had many mishpas wiht his writing career. He would spend sleepless nights on top of his doghouse with his typewriter. Snoopy also faced rejection from editors and in one clip actually destroyed his mailbox. No I haven't ever done that but I thought about throwing my computer out the window a time or two. This year after the death of the artist Charles Shultz, Snoopy got a little more recognition. His picture was put on a United States stamp. (Pictured above) I am sure his creator would have been proud. Still Snoopy can be found weekly in the cartoon section of the Daily Press, under the heading "Classic Peanuts." Snoopy's writing career like mine is still in the developmental stages. His creator though far surpassed even his own expectations of his cartoon strip. Many other baby boomers like myself have grown up with different Peanuts movies. Who could forget "The Great Pumkin?" Linus, Lucy, Woodstock, etc... The cast of charcters gave all of us something to laugh at and to relate to. The following are some of my favorite Snoopy sites. I hope that you will take the time to visit them and enjoy sharing them with your kids and grandkids.
