Ramadan-November 2001

I wrote this article on November 3, 2000. I never dreamed that less than a year later that there would have been an event that would happen on September 11, 2001 that would tear at the very fabric of our nation. This year as the muslims prepare for Ramadan, America and Afghanistan prepare for war. Because separatism exist among extremist muslims worldwide. Who use terrorism as a means to promote their extremist views. How do we protect ourselves? There were innocent people killed on September 11th. How many more people have to die until we all realize we live on this planet together? Allah and God are the same. Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddist, Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Mormon, American, Polish, Russian, Afghans, Italian, Scotish, Irish, British, Asian, Indian we are all one. There is enough land and food for everyone to share. Why kill a man over a piece of land when you can share that land with him? Why kill a man because he does not believe as you do? Allah/God made us all different for a reason. He did not want us to be the same. If the rainbow were only one color then it would not be anywhere near as beautiful. That is the beauty of mankind. Ramadan should be a time of peace not of war. We must not become evil in trying to overcome evil. American's cry out for justice, but even justice has human pricetag on it.

The following is about the history of Ramadan in both the United States and around the world.
