My youngest son is Allen. His birthday is in the spring and usually falls somewhere around Easter. A long time ago my sister Wanda invited my parents and I to a dinner at her house and she made the cutest bunny cake. So I used that theme for Allen's birthday when he was younger and it became a tradition to make a bunny cake for him each year. Here are two links to recipes I found for bunny cakes. http://pbs.org/wgbh/zoom/cafe/bunnycake.... http://pastrywiz.com/easter/eastercake.h...

Sam and Kristofer have birthdays on the same day in July so I was thinking about next year's birthdays and decided to do their birthdays together on July fourth. I am going to use the patriotic theme. Since it is easier that time of year to purchase the red, white and blue decorations. It makes shopping a breeze. I am also gonna make a flag cake from a recipe that some recipes that I had collected over the years.

Terry, my oldest son has a birthday in September and I decided to throw a luau for him. He is over twenty-one so I am going to have both drinks with and without alcohol in them for the guest. I am going to decorate the yard Hawaiian style with yard lanterns and multicolored lawn lights. A lot of which can be purchased on clearance because it is the end of summer and most stores are trying to sell off the remainder of the summer stock. I also have a menu I am going to use, which includes a watermelon centerpiece, sweet and sour chicken and a pineapple coconut cake. Also, I thought we might play some games like limbo. I got a lot of ideas for Terry's luau from others who are doing luau as the theme for their parties on the Old Hawaii Luau Board. http://oldhawaii.com/luau/board.htm

My daughter Trisha's birthday is in October and is on the same weekend as The Fall Festival at the park near my home. Since it is a family tradition that we all go to the park to the Fall Festival we will celebrate her birthday at the park.

There are many various themes and locations for birthday parties. Supplies vary for each theme and can be very inexpensive to very expensive. http://birthdaypartyideas.com/ and http://partyforless.com Invitations are a good idea if you want to know how many guest to expect. Usually you can buy invitations or cards at any hallmark store or online at http://www.hallmark.com , http://www.bluemountian.com and http://www.americangreetings.com
