1807: Francis Deroun granted license to trade with the Otoe (August 24) 1808: Gov. Meriwether Lewis considered the Otoe, Little Osage, Big Osage, Missouria and some Grand Pawnee allies 1809: St. Louis Missouri Fur Company's first expedition up the Missouri: Pierre Chouteau, Manuel Lisa, Andrew Henry, Pierre Manard, Auguste P. Chouteau, Auguste A (17) and Paul Ligueste Chouteau (cousins), Dr. (Peyton?) Thomas, Shahaka's party reached Fort Osage on July 8, Otoe were waiting and complained there were no merchants on board 1812-1813: Otoe 43 miles north of the Platte's mouth 1814: Gov. William Clark wrote to secretary of war on September 18 that the British were trying to take over trade with the Otoe, Osage, Kansa, Sioux and Missouria 1816: Otoe, Republican Pawnee, Ree attacked Auguste P. Chouteau and his party of trappers 1817-1841: Otoe sometimes joined with Osage to raid in Nebraska 1817: June 24: Treaty with the Otoe 1819: Aug. 18: Kansa peace delegation (Chief He-roch-che [the Real War Eagle]) and 5 warriors along with John Dougherty (acting for O'Fallon) went to Platte river villages of Otoe, Missouria, and lower to smoke the peace pipe 1819: October 4: Benjamin O'Fallon held council with 100 Otoe, 70 Missouria, 50-60 Iowa 1819: Otoe and Missouria considered one tribe 1820: August 10: Ietan (Comanche) attacked by the Otoe 1821: November 29: 16 chiefs and head men of the Pawnee, Kansa, Omaha, Otoe and Missouri and Maj. Benjamin O'Fallon arrived in WA--met President Monroe and had portraits done by King Eagle of Delight dies on the way home Petalesharo also on trip 1821/1822: Cyrus Curtis and Michael Eley granted a one-year license to trade with Osage, Kansa, Otoe and Ponca on July 20 1821: Francis G. Chouteau granted first license to trade with the Sac, Fox, Iowa, Kansa Ponca, Otoe on August 21 1822: Shaumonekusse fights with Blue Eyes, killing him 1822-1830: Shaumonekusse lives with Pawnee and earned the name Ietan 1823: August: Prince Paul Wilhelm of Wuerttemberg visited the Otoe 1825: September 26: Otoe and Missouri agree not to "molest" American citizens travelling Santa Fe road in peace treaties 1828: Pawnee Republic, Omaha, Otoe, Iowa, Sac, Kansa and Shawnee met with Dougherty at Cantonment Leavenworth to make peace treaty (also there--Subagent Jonathan L. Bean, Lt. Samuel W. Hunt, Levi Benjamin) June 23 1829: Missouria join with the Otoe due to frequent attacks by nearby tribes 1830: Treaty of Prarie du Chien: La'Crenier dies: Ietan becomes Principal Chief 1830: Kansa, Iowa, Omaha, Otoe, Yankton Sioux are starving and poorly dressed 1830: July 15: Treaty with the Sauk
