Reaching Shodan

Author's Obi
the line of the judges and instructors, bowing to all, hugging some. And then to join my fellow new shodans at the back, congratulating each other. Fellow karateka, people that I had trained with over the years congratulated me over the next few days, but the most amazing part of the whole experience was this realization:

I could even remember what they had helped with, a particular kata, a stance, or a difficult move. It is a humbling feeling to realize how much each of these people had given me.

I only hope that in the future I can share a part of these unselfish people with others that are following me on the path. Get in the Car!
