With 365 beaches at the last count, Antigua can keep you busy for an entire year! Aside from sun worshipping, there is lots to do in this busy Caribbean island that lives off tourism all year round. Duty free shopping brings in oversized cruise boats to the bustling streets of St Johns Heritage Quay where you can buy everything from fresh fruit to luxury products and bamboo souvenirs.

Just a few miles away, the wild rainforest awaits, so for a taste of adventure head up to Fig Tree Drive but make sure you hire a 4x4 as these roads are challenging! There's more nature to explore by sea, Eli Fuller's Antigua Adventure Eco Tours take day trips into the North Sound and educate tourists about the fauna and flora while sipping fantastic 'secret recipe' rum punch.

At Falmouth Harbour, the 18th Century Georgian dockyard is a major tourist attraction, while the nearby Shirley Heights outpost has been revived thanks to Sunday afternoon parties.

The island is far from being refined all around, but for a taste of luxury in an ultra modern designer setting, stay at the new Carlisle Bay hotel. As opposed to most Caribbean style hotels, this new addition is suave and sophisticated, juggling local influences with Asian and European touches. The food is extraordinary and service, pristine. Huge bedrooms with sea views come with double bathtubs and extravagant colourful outdoor daybeds with billowing curtains on the balcony to keep privacy. Very smooth...

A visit to Antigua's little sister island Barbuda is essential! The deserted tropical paradise admired for its pink coral beaches stretching out for miles. The pink glow renders the panorama magical.

The tiny island is also home to the famous frigate bird sanctuary. With over 170 species of birds and over 5,000 frigate birds, it's not to be missed. Fishing is also a big industry on the island, for visitors and for locals. Whether it's bonefish fishing or tuna or even barracuda there's a chance to get out on the water and catch your own meal!

The island is a haven for nature lovers looking for an isolated retreat. With just three hotels and two restaurants, it is the perfect sheltered honeymoon destination.

Divers too will have plenty to keep them busy. There are 200 sunken ship wrecks around the island to explore underwater...

The newly opened rustic yet luxurious Beach House hotel is set on a 17 mile pink beach where you can lie back, enjoy the view and be waited on hand and foot! Evian spray? Fruit brochettes? Cold towels? What more could you possibly want?
