Big up to de Yardman and all de massive in de world! Yes mon, reggae is on the world wide web too, don't seckle. Is this topical? But of course. Reggae is the roots of hip-hop, and without Jamaican pioneers like DJ Kool Herc we'd have no hip-hop music and culture today. Therefore, I dedicate this week's installment to all the reggae sights that lick shots across de web, seen?
Start with http://www.boomshaka.com/boom.html to be throughly doused in reggae culture. Boom Shaka is a group that takes their culture seriously, no doubt. They've got a photo archive for Haile Selassie I, transcripts of his speeches, not to mention audio files from their albums, plus roots poetry and links to other reggae sights. Easy now man, these rude bwoys droppin nuff knowledge so you can overstand, seen? If you liked Bob Marley and the Wailers, you're gonna like the WWWailers even more. Check out http://www.malmo.lth.se/teach/bp/wail/wa... Not only is every Wailes song ever recorded crossreferenced, but there are many links to all members of the immediate family and musical family. No Wailers fan should be without a bookmark to this site. The Jammin Reggae Archives may be the most definitive sight of all. All the sites above are reference therein somewhere, and FAQ for rec.music.reggae, and a patois dictionary, and sound files, and... STOP! If Snoop Doggy Dogg spoke patois, he'd say you're a ras bumba clizzat for not chizneckin this site. It's the shiznit! So big up to all the rudebwoys and rudegwals out there. Don't forget to check out the reggae sights, ya know they rule! Peace, Flash Go To Page: 1
