In a previous article, I wrote to you about the burgeoning efforts of such groups as Support Online Hip-Hop and the Ill Crew Universal to build an "intranet" support
for various hip-hop web sites and resources. I'm happy to say their efforts haven't gone without notice! In an upcoming issue, Wired Magazine (accessible at http://www.wired.com/news/ or on your nearest newsstand) will be doing a special feature on SOHH and it's membership. Yours truly has already e-mailed Wired for confirmation and more information on their story; and I'm looking forward to the hip-hop headz meeting the net gurus soon!
January has been a bit of a slow month for hip-hop, but there are a few new sites to ring in the new year of 1997. One of the more fascinating ones is _Verb_, Australia's Hip-Hop Site. If you didn't know that hip-hop music and culture was a global phenomenon, here's a chance to expand your mind. Check out the Funky Wisdom by Miguel D'Souza and find out about the Oakland/San Fran area's own "Peanut Butter Wolf" courtesy of Ben (Rocking Horse). This site is at http://www.geko.net.au/~verb/ and it's a must see for all headz! One other site I highly recommend for this month is Bombay Records, at http://www.iresource.com/bombay.html. After you check out their lipsmackin Frosted Breaks (fortified with 100% of hip-hop's daily requirements) be sure to e-mail them and say Suite 101 sent ya. PEACE! Go To Page: 1
