Welcome again to another weekly installment of Flash's Hip-Hop Web Cruising 411; brought to you courtesy of Suite 101. Today I thought I'd drop a gem on you about a new trend in hip-hop on the
Internet, and that's networking. This
is not the internet I'm referring to, this
is an INTRANET; the links that hip-hop
pages are making to each other to build
an on-line hip-hop community. This is a long overdue development I find MOST welcome.
Above all others, two sites stand out in the area of hip-hop homepage networking. The ICU (alias stands for Ill Crew Universal) not only posts your link for other members to peep at but sends out informational e-mail about underground tapes and new web resources. SOHH (Support Online Hip-Hop) does much the same, although you aren't a member of "a crew" per se as in ICU. ICU brings members into one organization, while SOHH expands the intranet outward by encouraging all hip-hop sites to support each other and build common links. Check out these two fantastic organizations. I'm proud to be affiliated with both organizations and display their logos on my homepage. Here's to the burgeoning hip-hop empire on the Internet, building a solid intranet for hip-hop's future! Go To Page: 1
