What's up to the hip-hop community and the internet at large? Ay, this is Flash, bringing you an update on what's out there for hip-hop lyrics in my debut editorial for i5ive. Of course, there's no question that my site outranks all the others; since like the Borg it has assimilated damn near everything -- but to be fair there are some other good sources; in layout and content, if not in depth.
Tyler Blohm has a site which he refers to as "Ty's Little Black Book of Rap Lyrics". This site gets props for having an update-minder which you can submit your e-mail address to; so that everytime Ty updates the site you get the 411 and can come check out what's new. The newest site I've found is in the UK, so those of you with a slow US connection may have trouble; however it's worth it. "Check the Rhime" had a lot of classic old-school hip-hop which I incorporated, and it's all laid out in a nice A-C, D-G, etc. format. They've even got ZIP files of the whole archives for those of you who can't settle for just a slice.
