The best hip-hop music websites

In the third and final installment of our three part series, Suite101.com looks at the best hip-hop websites on the internet. Part three profiles the best MUSIC websites: where to go to check out RealAudio, MP3, and more!

1. 88HipHop - 88hiphop.com. Part of the Pseudo Online Network, 88HipHop is perhaps one of the most established and easily one of the best broadcast sites on the net. Shows change every hour and new editions of popular shows run every week, such as "Fat Beats Radio" and "Beatminerz Radio" with hosts such as DJ Evil Dee and Mr. Walt. Old shows are archived so if you miss a broadcast you can always come back later and pull up the the show out of the archive. Even VIDEO is available. This site really does have it all.

2. BringTheNoise - bringthenoise.com. For the second time, a Chuck D related project is profiled in this series. D himself hosts a show and promises that ANY artist will be profiled who sends him a demo or a record. He refuses to kiss corporate ass and that's what makes this site so vital and the shows so good. Like 88HipHop, if you miss the live shows, you can check the archive for the backlog. Hey, any website that would have an ENCORE presentation of a show called "When the Shit Hits the Fan" deserves a mention here! Irreverant, intriguing, hardcore, and 100% hip-hop - that's Chuck D, and that's BringTheNoise.

3. HipHopJoints - hiphopjoints.com. This relatively new upstart has quickly captured a following for it's ability to break brand new songs on the internet before any other site or radio station. Here I caught the "Linda Trip" exclusive when Company Flow's own El-Producto caught Sole on tape kissing his ass and turned it into a diss rebuttal song to "Dear El Pee". Nasty! They also have a Classics section as well. Make sure your RealAudio components are fully updated so you don't miss anything they have to offer. On the downside, I will say this: their new black and gray design has GOT to go. It's ugly!

4. HipHopSite - hiphopsite.com. Your editor must admit some bias here, as he is a regular record reviewer for this site. Still, hands down, this is one of the oldest and best hip-hop audio sites on the internet. Aside from that, it's also a great online record store where you can purchase hard to find hip-hop vinyl and mixtapes. A bevy of features is at your disposal: New Joints, In the Deck, and so much more. If you want the ultimate in one stop audio shopping and music reviews for hip-hop, this site will probably give you your fix.
