How To Get Music For $2.99

It constantly amazes me how the hardest to find albums, even albums that were never officially released, can be found for only $2.99 right in your own 'hood. Yes, you heard right. Just two dollars and ninety-nine cents will hook you up with albums like K.M.D.'s "Black Bastards", Showbiz and A.G.'s "Goodfellas", or The Legion's "Theme + Echo = Krill". Here's how:

* Pawn shops often don't care WHAT they have for CD's - they just take up space that could be used for more valuable shit. They sell cheap to make room for "better" merchandise. * A lot of used CD stores have a "bargain bin" full of discs they've been sitting on for months that nobody bought. Lots of good hip-hop here. Be nosy and DIG INTO THAT PILE. * Major retail chains like Sam Goody and Tower often do the same thing with material that was slightly damaged in shipping or is more than a few years old (usually a combination of the two). They also get cheap "dump" material by buying out the stock of competitors and then unloading it for a profit. Keep your eyes open for discounted records like this! * If you're looking at used CD's and see that it's a little bit scratched up, you can get the priced knocked or sometimes even get it for FREE. (I got Son of Bazerk and Trendz of Culture this way, both play FINE.) * Promo CD's. In college towns and big cities, radio stations routinely unload material they don't play or haven't used for whatever they can get; even if it's a quarter apiece. The CD stores unload just as fast.

Use these tips and you can expand your hip-hop collection greatly without giving up an arm and a leg to get it!

Peace, Flash
