8. De La Soul - "Stakes is High". Calvin Mercer and Jerry Springer? Shit, anything's possible. But as Dove's lines about "sickening raps, making the whole sick world collapse" weren't already blazed in my brain, the images of this video would have done it for me. Another good example of why honesty pays and glitziness sucks.
9. A Tribe Called Quest - "Bonita Applebum". Probably the best ever example of a "rootsy" video; could even be defined as the pinnacle of the boho movement in rap music before it's eventual decline and replacement by a much louder, bolder hardcore aesthetic.
10. Digital Underground - "Humpty Dance". Yes, that's Shock G wearing the plastic nose and bragging about getting busy in a Burger King bathroom. And this video is comedy. Straight up yuks. Someday I think Shock G and Prince Paul need to do an album together. :)
