Most people would say Method Man has the most distinctive
and easily recognizable voice in the Wu-Tang Clan.
Most people would say that when paired with a hot beat and at the top of his game, Method Man is near impossible to beat. So WHY has Method Man put out another weak solo album? WHY has Method Man saddled himself with terrible beats? WHY has the Wu's most popular MC allowed himself to be outshined yet again? What happened to Method Man? His rhyme style has become so exaggerated that he's now practically a parody of himself. While his fellow Month of the Man member Redman gets over for the same things that always got him over - humor and weed - Method Man's contribution to the Month sounds sluggish and uninspired. It lacks focus, concept, or style and is burdened by an excessive amount of skits that one apt wit on the RMHH newsgroup said were prepared with more effort than the tracks. I know I'm gonna upset a lot of Wu-Tang fans by having said this, but I am a Wu-Tang fan and I *am* upset. After hearing Method pan his OWN first solo album in review after review and promising us that "shit was gonna be different" he fails to deliver in what may be the year's single biggest letdown. After a year of great albums by the likes of P.E., Outkast, Hieroglyphics and Aceyalone, this is a sour note to end on. Method, ju got some explainin to do! Peace, Flash Go To Page: 1
