his first effort in the industry is a 26 minute, six track EP entitled "Very Stimulating," that consists of beautiful beats and off tempo, fast paced, perverted poetry. all songs sound like nothing you've ever heard, and that's enough to keep you listening for awhile, until you either want to throw it away or buy ten more copies to support true art. yes folks, i predict MC PAUL BARMAN will be either loved or hated, leaving no in-between...but that's okay by me. i'm a fan of hip-hop based on the important principles of loving creative individuality, and because of songs like "MTV Get off the Air Pt. II," where BARMAN meets PRINCESS SUPERSTAR--an ideal date for dual dimentia that ensues when the princess allows entry: "suck my nana, french my cunt, comprendez-vous? look pepe' le pew let's cut to the de nous, mon, you wanna fuck me, i wanna fuck you, so it's on," and for repliance: "can i chime in? i'll still be rhyming when i'm in your hymen, i radiate like it was '88, and i'm searching for my ladymate, i'm a hunter gatherer, a cunter latherer..."
as usual, I must give it up to PRINCE PAUL for the brilliance behind the beats. not only are the grooves smooth, but he continues his search for ancient, untampered with samples, to give his tracks more bounce than most can handle. he always does the duty of defining the mood quite nicely, and doesn't ever recycle.
the only annoyance from my side of the tracks was PRINCE PAUL's insistance on keeping some of BARMAN's lyrics that were a touch too fast for the beat, but, even that sums up his neurosis. I can't say that you'll agree with me, but that PAUL BARMAN is one talented mother heffer, even if he is
