My (Fashionably Late) What Up?

It's Y2K, and no extinction level events to report as we experienced the coming of the year 2000. At the bewitching hour 12:00 am, 01/01/00), the computer didn't flatline; the Tascam board didn't short circuit; and most important, a mic check showed the mics were still functional. All systems were pretty much go as I checked in as the new editor of Hip Hop Suite 101.

What's up with Hip Hop Suite 101?

The Late Introduction - Hip Hop Suite 101 refers to the hip hop section of Suite101.com. I'm the new hip hop editor Goldilocks, and I'm here to serve you hip hop with a personal (and sometimes biased) touch. I'm currently working on upcoming articles, discussions, live chats (with special guests), online listening parties, reviews, interviews and more, so if you're an artist or label looking for some pub, be sure to check the promotional department for info on how to get featured on this site. I would like to invite everyone to join in on the discussions and chat, and to email me their questions or comments. 

Where's the old guy?

I'm not sure what happened with the old guy, Steve Juon, but you can still access his impressive collection of articles, links and discussions here. 

The bomb part of Steve's site is his section of weekly articles dating back to November 1996, beginning with I-way's Best Rap Lyric Sites: Fresh Dope Lyrics and ending August 8, 1999, with Blurred Reality: Art or Commerce?  The site also features numerous discussions on everything from the Top Ten Rap Videos to Whitewashing Hip Hop. Rumor has it that he's the webmaster of The Original Hip Hop Lyrics Archive, one of my Top 5 Hip Hop Sites!
