Mount Herman Trail in Monument, Colorado - Page 2

As the trail winds through the trees and begins to climb upward, if you look to your left, you will see a large ridge of rocks that looks very nice through the trees. A deep gorge runs beside the trail, so watch your footing.

When you hike the Mt. Herman trail from the parking area we guided to you in the directions above, it only takes between 20 and 30 minutes to hike. The trail does have some steep spots, so this isn't a walk in the park, but it is a short trail with a beautiful view at the top. Plan to take some time at the top because the kids will want to do some boulder-scrambling and you will want to look out over the city, Black Forest, and Monument. All of these towns can be seen from this vantage point.
