My favorite reference on how to keep coleus in full health, pest-free and non-flowering is from Texas A&M It provides all kinds of information on the "SuperSun" series, another group recommended for extreme conditions.

Coleus flowers are--in my opinion-- incidental at best, ugly at worst. The right fertilzer is the key to keeping them under control; 10-10-10 is fine, but anything with a high middle number encourages flowering. That's fine for geraniums, but not for MY coleus.
