Cooking with Kudzu

I was amazed to see just how many ways we can incorporate the nutritional value of Kudzu into our diets. A quick search online will reveail dozens of sites with Kudzu recipes. Try this one just for a start! Kudzu Recipes

Just one Caution: Be CERTAIN that the Kudzu you are using has not been sprayed with any chemicals, weed killers, or toxins in ANY form before using!

Gardening with Kudzu

My tendency is to say that if Kudzu isn't already in your area...don't bring it in. Buy packaged Kudzu products instead. But this is up to you of course. Just be aware that it will grow in any conditions, and can spread by up to a foot a day, and up to sixty feet in a year. Also, some herbicides and weed killers have been shown to be *beneficial* to Kudzu, it actually thrives on them. You've been warned!

The Kudzu vine itself is a rough stemmed perennial climber that prefers shady spots but soon creates its own shade, perpetuating its own ideal conditions. The root can grow to enormous size, in some cases the size and weight of an average human.

Magical Use

I have not found any traditional uses of Kudzu in the realm of magic, however, the qualities of tenacity and the ability to prosper where ever one is planted come readily to mind.
