Raving About Rosemary, Part Two...

Cunningham lists Rosemary for a variety of uses in his Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs, such as
  • Placing Rosemary beneath the pillow for protection against nightmares, or under the bed to protect the sleeper from any harm.
  • Hanging Rosemary on the porch and door posts to protect the house from robbery
  • Carrying Rosemary to ensure good health

Rosemary makes a wonderful purifying addition to the ritual bath, and Cunningham notes the added benefit of 'preserving youthfulness' when used in this manner. Some references say merely smelling the wood of Rosemary stems daily will ensure a youthful demeanor.

Those doing healing work might consider preparing a hand wash for use prior to the work.

Burning Rosemary as an incense is said to aid in the answering of specific questions if certain knowledge is desired.

Elves are said to be attracted to Rosemary, and in Sicilian folklore it is written that the Faerie Folk inhabited Rosemary and when approached, shape shifted into small garden snakes.

Rosemary can function quite nicely as a substitute for Frankincense, and should be included any time one wants a work 'worth remembering'.

Here's hoping that with all this wonderful information at your fingertips, you'll Remember to Rave about Rosemary too!
