Festive and fragrant wreaths are the ultimate herbal decoration for your home. Their beauty is only limited by your own creativity and imagination! Materials Needed 1. Herbal Wreath Base: This can be made of straw, grapevine, cardboard or plastic circles, styrofoam, and wire bases in any size you think you can take on. 2. Tools: You should have on hand scissors, glue gun and sticks, a piece of wire for a hanger. 3. Project Materials: Floral picks, silver king artemisia; green herbs such as ivy mints, thyme, sweet annie, bay leaves, tarragon; anise hyssop, lavender; baby's breath; white statice; globe amaranth; oregano; yarrow; created celosia; chamomile; rosemary; sage. (Use this list as a guide. You can use may different combinations for great effects.) If you cannot supply all these items from your garden, supplement with dried herbs from your local craft store, or you can try Floral Home to mail order supplies. (Click on the "Herb Shoppe.") Another great place to order dried items and for great wreath pictures, go to Garden Classics. To Put Together 1. Tie the wire through the back of the wreath base to make a hanger. 2. The floral picks used are the ones with the wire attached. Tie up several bunches of silver king artemisia with these picks and attach around the inner and outer rims of the wreath base. 3. Using the glue gun, attach the green herbs inside the outer rim of artemisia. 4. Attach the anise hyssop and lavender, alternating each one just inside and slightly on top of the green herbs. 5. Add the baby's breath at even intervals centered between the inside and outside materials. 6. Fill in the front with the remaining flowers and herbs. Place your creation where it will be noticed on a wall, door or above a fireplace to create a welcoming presence!
