Thine Eyes Bleed Interview

to the front on the van our coolant just dumped everywhere.

To make a long story short we didn't make the show to say our goodbyes and party one last time and we had to pay $500 to get our trailer and van towed back to London, so it sucked. This tour started with a breakdown 6 hours from home costing us $800 for a new oil pan, what a great start! I could go on and on with this one, all I can say is that it's all a part of the adventure.

How did you get started in music?

I started playing in a band (Acacia) when I was 12 years old. I had always been into bands and music growing up having an older bro throwing things at me, and found a group of friends that had the same ideas. It was just kind of natural. What else it there to do on a weekend when you're that young? Why not jam!

Who were your musical inspirations?

At a young age I was introduced to AC/DC, Pantera, Faith No More, Skid Row, Poison, Motley Crue, etc. As time went on I was influenced by bands like Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots. But after that it all comes back to metal. I would have to say that bands like Slayer, Pantera, Neurosis, and Bloodlet are what really inspired me to do what I am doing, so it kind of comes from all over the map. And everyone in the band comes from a different era of music so it keeps things interesting.

Who are some current vocalists you admire?

I have always admired Maynard Keenan from Tool as well as Layne Staley (R.I.P.) from Alice in Chains. Mike Patton is someone who I really admire, he is still rockin' and you never know what he will do next. You just know it will kick some ass.

What's the biggest misconception your fans or friends have about you?

I guess a lot of times my sarcasm can be taken the wrong way and have me look like an asshole. But if you know any of us we are really chillin' dudes. Some people see us on stage and get a total misconception about who we are, but it doesn't really last long if they come talk to us. We like to have a good time.
