System Of A Down Debuts At #1
System of a Down has done it again. The band's fourth album, "Mezmerize" (American Recordings/Columbia Records), enters the Billboard/SoundScan chart in the Number One position, as did their CD "Toxicity" when it was released in September, 2001. Since the release of "Mezmerize" last Tuesday, May 17, the CD has scanned an astounding 453,000 copies domestically. "Mezmerize" is the first disc in a 2-disc set with disc two, "Hypnotize," expected out late this fall. "Mezmerize/Hypnotize" was produced by Rick Rubin and System's Daron Malakian.

"Mezmerize" also came in at #1 on numerous music charts around the world including those in Germany, Canada, Austria, France, Sweden, Japan, Switzerland, Colombia, Greece, Brazil, and New Zealand, bringing the first week's worldwide sales in excess of 800,000 copies.

"B.Y.O.B.," the first single from "Mezmerize," is a Top 5 track at radio, and the companion promo video has been in high rotation at MTV, MTV2 and the Fuse Network for weeks.

Motley Crue on VH-1
No one believed it could be done -- reuniting the members of Motley Crue. Hit records, millions of dollars and hordes of adoring fans could not keep the group together. They were one of the biggest rock bands of the '80s when, in a flurry of fists and verbal assaults, they vowed that they would never play together again.

VH1's latest installment of its "(inside)OUT" series, "(inside)OUT: Resurrecting Motley Crue, premiering on Monday, May 30 at 10:00 PM* is a brutally honest and poignant look at a heavy metal miracle in the making. Re-assembling group members Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee began as an endeavor that skeptics thought impossible, but persistence prevailed, and resulted in a reunion bigger and greater than ever imagined.

Capturing the intimate moments of the process behind the reunion, VH1's "(inside)OUT: Resurrecting Motley Crue," allows viewers access into private band meetings, top secret rehearsals, photo shoots and recording sessions that took place before their historic reunion. Their "Red, White and Crue: Better Live than Dead" reunion tour and album was not only successful for their management company, record label execs and millions of adoring fans, but the most profound impact was on the group themselves. Reuniting was the catalyst that forced each member to not only face their own demons, but also those of their fellow group members. In an endeavor that others deemed impossible, the members of Motley Crue were able to put aside their inflated egos, old grudges and health challenges and take the music industry by surprise and by storm!
