Where Did My Sleep Go?Good health is important to all of us. I believe it is something even money can't buy. In our present economical times trying to save money for a rainy day is impossible to do. Since turning 50 years old, I am hoping to keep my body and mind sound. I still love walking no matter how long or short a distance I go. The park is easy to get to by foot as I frolick under the warm sun. On one of my strolls I viewed a birthday party where boys and girls of assorted ages were attempting to break a Spiderman pinata. One leg was knocked off. Then the other was on the ground. I noticed as I headed home the children were sqealing with delight as candy dropped all around them. Writing is fun most of the time but there comes a time you need to get some fresh air(yet in LA it is mostly full of smog) to increase creativity. I use these rare moments for my writing. I return to my desk a re-newed writer for the break. Handicaps shouldn't stop the positive flows coming from our bodies. Something beyond comprehension an illness creeped it's ugly head into my roommate's and my life about 8 weeks ago. Tests proved she has Parkinson's Disease and now a sleeping disorder called Sleep Apena. Trying to keep our heads above water while waiting for a machine ( called a CPAP) which is urgently needed to arrive so she can breathe properly has crippled us both. A few weeks ago I discovered I developed a case of the Shingles but am ok now. Sleep deprivation has increased panic attacks and I need Xanax to sleep at night. Peggy and I searched on the Internet to learn about Sleep Apnea. This is the url http://www.thesleepsite.com/apneaimpact4... Check out the symptoms for yourself! They are as follows:memory loss, impotaence, loud or irregular snoring, declining work performance, impaired concentration, irritability, mood swings, depression, in-coordination or clumsiness, frequent awakenings to urinate, bedwetting is particularly ominious in adults, sleep-related acid reflux, coughing, choking, inhalation of acid into lungs, restless sleep, bed torn up upon awakening, night sweats, which often involve the head and back of the neck, headaches and/or dry throat upon awakening, nasal congestion, sleepliness and abrupt lapses into sleep, denial of sleepiness, and other symptoms including high blood pressure, obesity, and unexplained highway crashes running off the berm and driving on "automatic pilot".
