Certain Issues We Need To Deal With Better

© Jill Ann Smith

All of us are faced with issues we need to deal with, so our lives will be more blissful. A major issue in my life was adjusting to the fact I had become hearing impaired. Although this crisis came along in my thirties I couldn't help but feel nothing could have prepared me for such an intense change anytime in my life.

Why does it always seem like when it rains it pours? Emotionally I wasn't able to take in just what I would be facing due to my hearing loss. The repercussions were comparable to being involved in an automobile crash where the outcome would be very doubtful for complete recovery.

Luckily when I learned to face the issues I discovered I had blown the issues out of proportion. Running scared never helps the situation. In time I was again able to find life did hold meaning for me.

Avoiding conflict has always been an issue I had to come to grips with ever since my childhood. At heart I'm not a coward. I prefer to live in a state of harmony but of course realisticly I would be foolish to believe this could ever happen.

Throughout the years I've had to change the way I run my life. In order to advance during moments of despair the best thing to do is to stop searching for someone to blame. Recently I realized I had to expand my thought processes, so I could be a freer me.

Losses are hard to overcome. Yet the human spirit (when allowed to mend) will combat most disappointments with the right attitude for a triumphant return. Circumstances aren't always what they appear to have been upon closer inspection.

Hearing impairment in my own case wasn't the main issue I had to contend with in the beginning. Fear of a different lifestyle only made me want to give up on life in defeat. My frailties were enlarged to the point of being frozen in my tracks.

What good could ever come from allowing panic to call the shots? Logic had temporarily fallen by the wayside. In such a quick time I had hidden behind the one thing which would hold me back from a life of purpose.

Life pulls no punches we aren't at some time going to be able to eliminate. Faith is a strong emotion. It is also a very powerful weapon we can use to help us to survive the low points we need to deal with better.
