I believe I am a very fortunate person. Although I am hearing impaired I am still capable of maintaing a fulfilling life. My writing is a satisfying venture I use to draw strength from whenever there are bad times I have to face.
The right answers will make all the difference. Sometimes I am distracted. My shining star becomes tarnished from worry or self doubt. I find expressing myself on paper helps to keep me grounded and within a short time I am right on track again. Peace of mind surfaces from taking stock of yourself. As I recently celebrated my 50th year, I discovered the person I am is all right with me. Of course there are so many more things I have yet to accomplish but for now I am filled with fond memories. Life is very dear to all of us. Quality moments are more important to me than owning material objects. Hearing impairment doesn't give me the right to dwell on selfish emotions for long periods of time. I desire to be a survivor. April will bring more concentration on completing the writing projects I have fallen behind in. I refuse to, at this point in my life, be on the short end of the stick. Although my next new adventure isn't until May, there is so much excitement in planning the trip. I will be traveling to Lexington, KY for a horse race May 19th and a Celebrity Golf Tournament for two days. A shining star doesn't have to be a globe-trotter in any sense of the word. We are the dreamers trying to follow our rainbows to the end. We search for the pot of gold waiting there. Halle Berry won this years Academy Award for best Actress in the movie "Monsters Ball." Halle's influence of an abusive father led her to have several abusive relationships. As a result of one of these turbulent confrontations Halle admitted to Barbara Walters she has lost 80% of her hearing in one ear. She carries on. The odds are against most of us who endure such pain in their early years. How difficult it must be to erase the constant recollections of an alcoholic family member scarring you for life. She is a winner. Other shining stars who have passed our way and will be sadly missed are Dudley Moore, comic, musician and he will always be remembered as the little man we chose to love forever. Next is the Director Billy Wilder whose movies were known as classics which included, "Some Like It Hot", and "Sunset Blvd", and last but not least Milton Berle, best known as Mr. Television, and Uncle Miltie. I'm quite sure he's still stealing jokes on the other side as we speak! Go To Page: 1
