Why is it we spend our energy constantly focusing on the things we don't have in our life? All this negative activity drains any positive flow, which we could be using to improve our future. There are moments I get caught up in negative thinking, (due to my hearing loss) where I have to change the way I view my life.
We need to stop overreacting to lives disappointments. In time we realize all of us have our limitations. Yet they shouldn't give us an excuse to consider ourselves losers. Last week I took a short trip to Laughlin, NV to see a Beach Boy concert. On the way home, there were several handicapped travelers. A man in a wheelchair, one with Cerebral Palsy, two ladies with back problems, and one with a knee injury. Later on in the day, I overheard the woman across from me discussing with the bus driver, the development of a knee injury. Two years ago, the doctor said she'd never walk again. Because of her faith, this same woman (now using a cane) was traveling to Los Angeles, from her home in Oklahoma to attend a friends wedding. In my own writing experiences, I have come to realize how important faith in my own abilities can be. When I'm honest with myself, I'm able to conquer the fears and find success is much easier to achieve. All the while, I could have been further down the road and closer to my goals. Hearing loss can be just as crippling as a knee injury. The world has so many wonderful opportunities, when you give it a chance. Don't turn your back on the world. I was walking in the neighborhood a few days ago, when I spotted a father out with his two young daughters. The man could have been upset and feeling sorry for himself. As life had dealt him what some would have considered a bad hand. He was missing both his arms, the right one was an artificial Limb with a hook. The three of them were eating ice cream, without a care in the world. The sight of them out enjoying themselves without consideration of others thoughts of them, was very touching and inspiring to see. It is truly a wonderful world. Go To Page: 1
