See Your Physician

Before you begin any exercise program, please see your physician and tell her what you plan to do. Discuss the details of your plan and what your goals are. Many physicians are now keeping in shape and will be supportive of your efforts. Better to be safe than sorry. If your physician is not supportive you might take the time to educate her about the role of fitness in health.

The key to success in maintaining fitness while we age is consistency. Develop a plan that is fun and stimulating. Try new things when you have the opportunity. It's not the intensity that's so important. Be consistent! That's the key. Look at exercise as a life time project. Good luck!
