Let’s Talk About Hair By Pamela Conoly

What do I mean by trouble? Well, trouble is when you go into a salon and say,”I don’t know what I want,so just surprise me”. You might as well lay down in front of a speeding train! First of all if you don’t know what you want it is best to do nothing rather than get a surprise that the salon would not be responsible for. After all,you did say “surprise me”. Yes,it will always grow out but who wants to walk around with something on you that you hate for that long? You have to look at it too,you know. Try asking a friend or looking at hair styles in a hair fashion magazine. Salons are usually full of them. Talk to your hairdresser about what hair styles you might like. They will most likley tell you whether or not it is suited for you. Now if your thinking about getting a perm you need to consider some other things. Whether or not you’ve had one before and how long ago, what kind you want, etc. Sometimes if your hair is long(below your shoulder or longer) they will uaually have to layer or cut it to be able to give you the proper perm that you desire. If you are looking to change your hair color you really need to go to, either a salon that you know or one of your friend’s salons that they know. Salon formulas for hair coloring a re a little more complicated than just going to the corner store and picking up a hair color in a box. They also have dozens of tints. According to the color you already have you may just want to tint it. This gets just as optimum results as getting a whole other color because sometimes your own color just needs some sprucing up! Now,if you would prefer to do it yourself, the boxed hair colors have greatly improved over the years. Less mess and better, richer color has made them a lot easier and almost foolproof. Whatever you decide to do be sure to take your time. Always go to reputable people and don’t be afraid to be old fashioned. Remember,it’s different strokes for different folks. What works for someone else may not work for you and vise versa! You are uniquely different in your own way and style. You have an intelligent mind that works and your gut decisions are almost always right. Listen to them.
