Color Coordination
By Pamela Conoly
It’s all about color! From the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Being color coordinated in this day and age is not always an easy task. There are so many shades of mauve, teal, blue, purple and not to mention gray. Basically when you wear brown your makeup should be based on the same. But it is a little more complex than that. There are lots of shades on the brown sku. Taupe and gold can be considered as a brown highlight as well as bronze. Okay,so what about pink? Well, again there are tons of mauvey shades that will go with pink, even purple shades go well with pink. Teal colors are a little harder, perhaps,to coordinate as there are really not the spectrum of shades to compliment like the others. So in these cases one must improvise as best one can. Pick the closest colors you can find that bring out the enhancement qualities of that shade. Gray is always a shade that seems to be able to go with anything. Never use black to enhance a shade. By that I mean do not use it as an eyeshadow on your eyelid like the other shades. You can, however, dab it into your arch where the accent of color must go to make your eyes look three dementional, just a touch, though. It is so easy to get too much black so you only want to use it to accent. Now,what if your wearing red? Well, sometimes I hold my eye colors up next to my clothes to consider them. However, blue, white and pinker colors, the deeper the better will go. As pink as you can get without it actually being red. Frosted or not depends on what kind of fabric your wearing. I had stated in a previous article that if your wearing shiny material then you can wear frosteds with ease. If you stick to this simple little rule you’ll do just fine matching your colors and being well coordinated! If you are wearing a print with all kinds of colors in it,then you need only pick one of the colors in the fabric and enhance upon that one. The other colors will follow and you will still be well coordinated. There is also a little fashion rule that I had learned a long time ago when I worked in retail. Jewelry has much the same rule as makeup and color coordination, but more on the one hand if you wear a low neckline you should wear a necklace and earrings,no bracelet. If you wear a bracelet then you should wear earrings and maybe a pin,no necklace. If you wear all three you Go To Page: 1 2
